I brought forward the Lobbyist Registry at City Hall and launched the Whistleblower Program, practical tools for transparency and accountability. I bring a unique mix of business and political experience to deliver a more collaborative, service-focused approach.
“City Hall works best when residents are at the centre of decision-making, with stronger engagement, accountability and transparency.”
Decisions are stronger when residents are included early and have civic trust.
Residents bring valuable insight into how the city should run. Council should make it easier for people to participate and shape decisions that affect their neighbourhoods.
Proposed Initiatives
With your support, I propose to:
- Strengthen Trust Between Residents and City Council: Build trust through consistent follow-through, clear purpose and community-first values, so residents feel connected to local government through genuine engagement and visible results.
- Return to Evening Council Meetings: Make it easier for residents to participate through convenient meeting times, a stronger delegation process and a pilot for open delegations where decision-makers hear resident priorities.
- Return Decision-Making to the Full Elected Council: Support shared leadership, not Strong Mayor Powers, by ensuring major decisions, including senior City hiring, go through Council. Dissolve Deputy Mayor portfolios and set clear priorities through a public-facing First 100 Days Action Plan.
- Strengthen Service Excellence Across Public-Facing Departments: Every time you contact City Hall, the response must be helpful information, respectful service and clear answers, with ways to ask questions and see how input shapes decisions.
