In two terms as Ward 2 Councillor, I have heard residents’ trust through experience and practical judgment on Burlington’s planning process.

My approach supports development that brings housing, greenspace and community benefits to the neighbourhoods it serves without destroying what’s already there.
As Burlington grows, infrastructure and planning must keep pace. A better plan directs growth to the right places and shares our connection to our past and quality of life central. The next step is a firm but collaborative approach with community development partners, stronger planning to secure funding from other levels of government, and attainable housing options.
Proposed Initiatives
With your support, I propose to:
- Strike a Permit to Build Committee: Turn approved housing into homes by working with staff and partners to remove barriers, improve timelines, secure community benefits, and use incentives that do not rely on municipal tax dollars. This will protect natural heritage, farmland and parks while directing new density to transit hubs and areas that can support it.
- Update the Burlington Housing Strategy: Plan for housing delivery beyond temporary funding, focused on affordable rentals, missing-middle housing and larger family homes through traceable incentive programs. Host Housing Strategy Town Halls so residents stay informed and heard.
- Strengthen Local Planning Decisions: Work with Ontario municipalities to advocate for planning appeal reform that respects local decisions, maintains community character, improves certainty, and reduces costly delays.
